This just in—these light bulbs, which are very popular throughout America, have been linked to anxiety, migraines, and even CANCER.
Cure Proven reports:
“Many of us in the effort to save energy and money, replaced our old standard light bulbs with environmentally-friendly with the new generation energy saving light bulbs.”
“However, the new generation of energy efficient light bulbs are so toxic that the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency created an emergency protocol you need to follow in the event of a bulb breakage, due to the poison gas that is released.”
“If broken indoors, these light bulbs release 20 times the maximum acceptable mercury concentration into the air, according to a study conducted by researchers from the Fraunhofer Wilhelm Klauditz Institute for German’s Federal Environment Agency.”
According to research, this new generation of energy efficient light bulbs has been linked to a number of terrible side effects, including:
- Cluster headaches
- Inability to concentrate
- Severe anxiety
The Orange County Register reports further:
“The LED bulbs sold as safe and eco-friendly can contain high levels of lead, arsenic and other hazardous substances, a new UC Irvine study shows—the same bulbs widely used in headlights, traffic lights, even holiday lights.”
“The toxic material could increase the risk of cancer, kidney disease and other illnesses, although the risks are more long-term than immediate; a single exposure to a broken bulb is unlikely to cause illness.”
” ‘I wouldn’t worry about an immediate release of vapor,” said UC Irvine public health and social ecology professor Oladele Ogunseitan, principal investigator and an author of the study. ‘But still, when these residues hang around the house, if not cleaned up properly they could constitute an eventual danger.’ ”
“The lights should be treated as hazardous materials, and should not be disposed of in regular landfill trash, he said, because of the risk of leaching into soil and groundwater.”
“High intensity, red bulbs contained the most arsenic, while low-intensity red lights harbored as much as eight times the amount of lead permitted by state law, the study showed.”
“White bulbs had low amounts of lead but higher amounts of nickel, also a potentially hazardous substance.”
“Ogunseitan and a team of scientists from UCI and UC Davis crushed bulbs of different colors and intensity, simulating acid rain in landfill conditions to produce a “worst case scenario.” Then they made precision measurements of toxic material in the resulting liquid.”
In other words, if you’re pregnant or have children in the house, it’s strongly urged that you get rid of compact fluorescent light bulbs, and avoid red light bulbs, which emit arsenic and 8x the amount of led permitted by state law.
According to Natural News:
“Unlike incandescent bulbs, halogen bulbs or LED bulbs, however, CF bulbs are made with mercury, a potent neurotoxin that is especially dangerous to children and pregnant women. For the new study, the researchers tested a worst case scenario for two different CF bulbs that lacked a protective casing. Both bulbs were broken indoors when hot. One bulb contained 2 milligrams of mercury, while the other contained 5 milligrams.”
“When broken, the bulbs released roughly 7 micrograms of mercury into the air, 20 times the British government’s recommended maximum exposure of 0.35 micrograms. Mercury levels remained elevated at floor levels for up to five hours after breakage.”
“There is no safe level of exposure to mercury.”
Wow! I thought that I was making a smart move by saving 20% on my energy bill, but I had no idea that I was endangering myself and my family to CANCER and mercury poison! Time to replace all those compact fluorescent bulbs with some halogen bulbs.
