BASEBALL LEGEND May Challenge Dingbat Elizabeth Warren for her Senate Seat

Elizabeth Warren has made political hay out of her latest stunt on the floor of the Senate. A former Boston Red Sox pitcher, however, is throwing a curve at her political ambitions.

This week, Elizabeth Warren criticized Sen. Jeff Sessions on the floor of the Senate hit a roadblock. Republicans used a long-standing rule barring the use of direct verbal attacks on the character of another member of Congress.

Democrats had a field day, calling the move censorship and using the incident to raise campaign funds.

Now, former Boston Red Sox great Curt Schilling is calling out Warren, and hinting to a possible challenge of her Senate seat. Schilling is an outspoken conservative, and his views even cost him his job at ESPN.

Fox News reports on Schilling’s criticism of Warren.

Referring to her as “Lie-a-watha” — a play on Warren’s claims of Native American heritage — Schilling said there is a disconnect between Boston sports fans and Warren’s political philosophy.

“This is a blue collar state. When you look at the coast of Boston and the fishing industry and you look at the towns and the cities, this is a blue collar state. There is no way that the fishermen on Cape Cod are Elizabeth Warren fans,” he said.

Schilling is no stranger to sparking political controversy. He was suspended by ESPN for comparing ISIS to the Nazis and was later fired by the company for a social media post seen as offensive to transgender people.

Curt Schilling has not yet confirmed he is running for the Senate. He is, however, admitting to considering it heavily. He did admit to having to “talk about potentially running for Senate and running against “Lie-a-watha.”

If Schilling does run for Senate and claim her seat, it wouldn’t be the first time the Red Sox legend has taken out a white person who wore the title of “Indian.”
