From The Resurgent
The media is piling on North Carolina. Its legislature met in Special Session to pass a law that overrides a plan in Charlotte, NC to allow men to use women’s bathrooms. The legislation was a radical step forward and the media downplayed the implications of the law. What the media also downplayed was that one of the biggest advocates of the law was a sex offender.
The former president of Charlotte’s LGBT Chamber of Commerce has resigned after he came under fire from a conservative group, which noted that he is on a sex offender list and questioned his role in supporting the city’s expanded nondiscrimination ordinance.
Chad Sevearance-Turner had been the president of the chamber, which supported the newly expanded ordinance that gives legal protection for gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender individuals…
Sevearance-Turner was arrested in 1998, when he was 20, and charged in Cherokee County, S.C., with a “lewd act, committing or attempting a lewd act upon a child under 16.”
A 2000 story in the Spartanburg Herald-Journal said Sevearance-Turner had been a youth minister at a church in Gaffney. A jury there found him guilty of fondling a 15-year-old teenage church member while the boy slept.
Did anyone bother to do a background check on this guy?!? Or would that be gender discrimination to wonder if someone who deviates from sexual norms (aka a sexual deviant) would have ulterior motives for legislatively empowering sexually confused people to invade whichever bathroom they feel like?
The seven members of the Raleigh council who voted for this law, and anyone else in government who wants to jam this down our throat, are a danger to society. End of story.
Just last month a man in Seattle who never argued he was transgender decided he would start dressing himself in women’s locker rooms citing rules similar to the ones that were just shot down for Raleigh.
This is the proof in the pudding that leftists are completely full of it when it comes to the idea of “safe space.” It is a matter of WHEN, not IF, children and women will be assaulted in bathrooms and locker rooms, which are actual safe spaces. If they were at all interested in providing one for transgender people then there would be a third (and fourth, and fifth) bathroom for them.
Transgender supporters say this is discrimination, and it is. It’s the same type of discrimination that is employed segregating men’s bathrooms and locker rooms from women’s facilities. They argue gender isn’t binary, fine, then there is absolutely no reason bathrooms should remain binary too.
But one thing nobody should be doing is allowing convicted sex offenders to control this or any agenda.
