In October, Alabama’s Governor Robert Bentley told us that he could no longer vote for Trump, after the “grab them by the…” video was released. Now, he’s being forced to resign over a sex scandal.
Is it just me, or are these anti-Trump people some of the biggest hypocrites on planet earth? So he can’t vote for a president, because of some dirty locker room bragging, but now he’s busted in pressuring his aide into sex? What a loser!
AP News reports on his anti-Trump views:
“MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) — Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley said he could no longer vote for Donald Trump in wake of the GOP presidential nominee’s sexually charged words about women.”
“Bentley’s comments came as state Alabama U.S. Reps. Martha Roby and Bradley Byrne, on Saturday called for Trump to step aside from the GOP ticket. Trump is under fire for his remarks about him groping women in a 2005 recording.”
“Roby was one of the first Republicans to speak out against Trump on Saturday, leading what would soon be a chorus of voices against the GOP nominee.”
“ ‘Now, it is abundantly clear that the best thing for our country and our party is for Trump to step aside and allow a responsible, respectable Republican to lead the ticket,’ Roby said in a statement. ‘Hillary Clinton must not be president, but, with Trump leading the ticket she will be.’ ”
Interesting…so he just “can’t vote for trump,” because of his terrible locker room talk from 2005…but now he’s recently been busted in a sex scandal?
The New York Times reports:
“MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Gov. Robert Bentley resigned Monday, his power and popularity diminished by a sex scandal that staggered the state, brought him to the brink of impeachment and prompted a series of criminal investigations.”
“Ellen Brooks, a special prosecutor, said Mr. Bentley quit in connection with a plea agreement on two misdemeanor charges: failing to file a major contribution report and knowingly converting campaign contributions to personal use. He pleaded guilty Monday afternoon.”
“It was a stunning downfall for the governor, a Republican who acknowledged in March 2016 that he had made sexually charged remarks to his senior political adviser, Rebekah Caldwell Mason.”
Finally, this man’s true colors show. It’s always the people who are the most vehemently anti-Trump that are the biggest sickos. Let’s hear more:
“ ‘I have decided it is time for me to step down as Alabama’s governor,’ Mr. Bentley said at the State Capitol. He did not mention the charges to which he pleaded guilty, or the deal with prosecutors that mandated his resignation.”
“His exit from government and guilty pleas followed mounting calls for his resignation, especially after a report that was made public on Friday said he had fostered “an atmosphere of intimidation” and compelled state employees to help him cover up the relationship. Impeachment hearings — the first in Alabama in more than a century — began Monday morning, when the State House was consumed by rumors that the governor would soon quit.”
