Germany’s Merkel doubles down: Islam “NOT A SOURCE OF TERRORISM”

Angela Merkel

Angela Merkel just does not get it. The German chancellor is doubling down on her belief that Islam is not the root cause of terrorism. She also remains committed to accepting more unvetted refugees from the Middle East.

In a speech this weekend in Germany, Merkel did her best Obama impersonation, defending Islam as peaceful.

Her comments come as she endures almost daily attacks from Muslim radicals in her country.

Her criticism is saved for who she thinks is the real enemy: President Trump and supporters of a secure England.

Merkel has been openly critical of President Trump’s immigration order. In addition, she also has blamed supporters of Brexit for destabilizing Europe.

The Daily Star (Europe) reports.

The embattled leader says Europe has an obligation to take displaced people from Syria and Iraq. She also said Islam “is not the cause of terrorism” and that combating extremism needs the cooperation of Muslim countries. In a wide-ranging speech at a Munich security conference, the German chief also vowed to work closely with Vladimir Putin’s Russia in the fight with ISIS in the Middle East.

Mrs Merkel has come under fire for taking in up to one million refugees amid security concerns and a string of migrant sex attacks across Germany. After the Berlin lorry attack at a Christmas market in December, ex-UKIP leader Nigel Farage said events such as that will be “Merkel’s legacy”.Mrs Merkel had been a strong critic of Brexit, saying she had “deep regrets” about it.

Daily Star Online has revealed how Brexit may not reduce migration, with 650,000 immigrants set to head to our shores anyway.

She will go to the polls in September against Social Democrat candidate Martin Schulz, the former European Parliament President.

Thank goodness America just rid itself of a leader with this kind of thinking. Merkel, however, remains committed to giving radical Islam a foothold in Europe, opening the door to movement to America.
