In a press conference following the shooting of Republicans by a liberal Bernie Sanders fan, Governor Terry McAuliffe (Democrat, of course) issues a mathematically challenged tirade against gun deaths in America.
Governor Terry McAuliffe may not know what the heck he’s talking about, but he says it with conviction.
“I have long advocated, this is not what today is about, but there are too many guns on the street. We lose 93 million Americans a day to gun violence. I’ve long talked about this.”
Uh huh… Well, by that math the country’s population would be in the negative billions by now, OR if this staggering gunpocalypse started on Sunday we would be at a couple hundred thousand Americans left now, and extinction tomorrow.
However you slice it, you get the idea that 93 million is an insane number.
If you accept the statistic that there is an average of 12,000 gun homicides per year (source) then the number of gun deaths in total over the last 40 years isn’t even half a million.
By the way, to digress for a moment, by the numbers gun deaths pale in comparison to abortion, which kills 100 times more annually than guns do. One is an actual right, the other is one invented by a liberal and scientifically ignorant SCOTUS in the 70’s. So Democrats like McAuliffe are huge hypocrites with their selective moral outrage.
Supposedly McAuliffe corrected himself later, but whatever he says after the fact is irrelevant, because with all of his virtue signaling on how long he’s fought for gun justice it’s clear that he doesn’t actually know anything about it.
