HEY DEMOCRATS: Obama said you shouldn’t block Supreme Court nominees (VIDEO)

Obama Supreme Court

Hold on to your seats people. Barack Obama actually said something wise – and it is good news for Republicans.

Former President Obama (doesn’t that sound great?) is now having his own words come back to haunt him and the Democrats as a battle looms over the Supreme Court. An Obama Supreme Court demand from last year is now coming back to haunt him and the Democrats. There is even video.

Before President Donald Trump (doesn’t THAT sound great?) even announced he was nominating Neil Gorsuch to the Supreme Court, Democrats were ready. A crowd was already protesting outside of the Supreme Court as the announcement was being made Tuesday night. Within minutes, protesters even had professionally-made signs (provided by People for the American Way). See for yourself.

None of this really matters, because the liberal lord and savior Barack Obama has already weighed in on the idea of blocking Supreme Court nominees. Actually, he did it last year.

In a campaign speech for Hillary Clinton last year, President Obama spoke out on Republicans who refused to give his Supreme Court nominee, Merrick Garland, a vote. “Democracy can’t work when all you’re about is trying to destroy somebody from the other party. If we demonize each other. If we block Supreme Court justices not just because that’s how it’s supposed to work but because we didn’t win,” he said.

Oh, irony. There’s even video. Observe.

President Obama was wrong about opposing parties using the parliamentary tools at their disposal. It is part of the process. In the case of the Republicans last year, they used it to give the incoming President the chance to put their mark on the Supreme Court. If that is really what they believe, however, they should stick to that, now that the roles are reversed. Otherwise, they are just hypocrites.
