Conservatives are getting more and more irate as the religion of Islam is pervading every part of our lives. It’s now even making a play for children’s toys.
You’ve probably heard that you shouldn’t let the fox guard the hen house, or the inmates run the asylum. One of those should apply to this, you just have to decide if you think the folks in this story are vicious or just plan crazy. Either way, the result is that one New Jersey Muslim has decided to try and normalize his religion by introducing it early. He has developed an Islamic-friendly Imam doll and book combo he thinks will be a joy for Muslim kids and little infidels alike.
With the coming Hajj season, author Danny Shakoj wants to introduce families to Imam Adam.
“Everywhere, you see different faith books and toys. There’s nothing out there for Islam,” said the book’s author, Shakoj, of Haledon.
Earlier this year he debuted his plush toy and book set to remedy the lack of products as well as help deter Islamophobia.
“Adventures of Imam Adam” was influenced by figurine-and-book combinations “Elf on the Shelf” and “Mensch on a Bench,” which respectively correspond to Christmas and Hanukkah.
The story follows Imam Adam, who packs his backpack to perform Hajj — a faith-renewing pilgrimage and one of the five pillars of the Islamic faith….
Included in the set is the hardcover book and a 12-inch plush figurine of Imam Adam dressed for adventure in jeans, red basketball shoes and a removable backpack with a prayer mat inside.
On his journey, the smiling imam breaks fast with friends, pauses for prayer and shares with those in need, highlighting each of the other four pillars of Islam— faith, prayer, charity and fasting.
Here is a local news report on the Imam doll and its creator.
Well if you want to know why there are not a plethora of Muslim toys to choose from it might be because we don’t want to glorify killing people in order to gain rewards in the after life. Or maybe it’s because the Muslims in other countries are just trying to figure out how to survive instead of putting their creative minds toward toy manufacturing or making an Imam doll.
The crux of the matter here is whether or not we are being subjected to propaganda. If you’re looking at this situation from the perspective that Islam really is a religion of peace and it’s just gotten a black eye by some of the extremists, then this toy is a fantastic idea. Or, if you’re trying to infiltrate a country, and you need the occupants to accept you with open arms, this toy is also a great idea so that people get used to your culture.
However, if you believe that the followers of Islam are going to follow their holy book or even just that they’re going to do here what they did in their country, then this is a terrible idea. What their religion tells them to do and what they are doing in the Middle East is cause mayhem and destruction through a religion who’s patron is a bloodthirsty pedophile that gives specific instructions on who should die and how. If there’s even a chance that the latter is true, it’s worth tapping the breaks on the welcome wagon until we see their true intentions.
