Half of all Americans believe reporters are either propaganda peddlers for the left, or just plain clueless. NBC reporter and MSNBC host Katy Tur accused President Trump’s advisers of having close ties to Russia. However, she appeared to draw a total blank when a Republican congressman pointed out that President Obama’s promise to Russia caught on a hot mic that he will give them more “flexibility” after the 2012 election. It was President Obama who pandered to Russia, not President Trump.
Watch Obama’s famous ‘FLEXIBILITY’ PROMISE TO RUSSIA’ hot-mic moment.
On March 27, 2012, President Obama was taking part in a global nuclear security summit in South Korea. At a press conference, he was caught on tape asking for Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to give him “space.” “This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility,” Obama implored. Obama assured the departing Russian President he will have the “flexibility” required to deal with missile defense issues after the 2012 presidential election.
You can imagine my surprise when Katy Tur of NBC said this during an interview with U.S. Rep. Francis Rooney, R-Fla.
“I see a lot of folks within Donald Trump’s administration who have a friendlier view of Russia than maybe past administrations did,”
Responding to Katy Tur’s claim; Rooney tried to remind her about Obama’s promise to Russia and then-President Dmitry Medvedev:
“Well, I think it was Obama that leaned over to Putin and said, ‘I’ll have a little more flexibility to give you what you want after the re-election,’” Rooney said.
After a pause, the 33-year-old host replied,
“I’m sorry; I don’t know what you’re referring to, Congressman.”
Are we to believe Katy Tur, an NBC reporter had no knowledge of Obama’s promise to Russia of more flexibility? Or is it more likely admitting this doesn’t fit NBC’s narrative that Trump has ties with Russia, while other administrations did not?
The clip provides all the proof one needs.
It was in fact President Obama who actually made the pledge to the 2012 Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. His Russian counterpart is heard saying he would relay the message to Putin. Nonetheless, Tur has a blank look on her face. She could not recall the widely reported story. It was, after all, an incident that was splashed across American headlines, and all over the world. The mainstream media wants to ignore the truth about the relationship President Obama had with Putin in 2012, when he pledged to give the Russian president more “flexibility.”
Rooney attempted to jog the NBC reporter’s memory.
“Remember when he leaned over at a panel discussion or in a meeting, and he said, ‘I’ll have more flexibility after the election’?” he asked. “No one pushed the president on what he meant by that, but I can only assume for a thug like Putin that it would embolden him.”
In 2012, Obama specifically told Medvedev:
“This is my last election. After my election I have more flexibility.” The moment was so widely reported; the GOP presidential nominee at the time; Mitt Romney raised the subject during a presidential debate.
