In a historic event, the House Appropriations Committee has released a bill allocating $1.6 billion to begin the construction of Trump’s border wall, one of his central campaign promises.
Concerned about the increasing influx of illegal immigrants, Donald Trump proposed the solution of building a gigantic wall along the southern border of the United States. And while many Americans viewed it as a waste of tax payer money, many also thought otherwise.
“The study of the fiscal effects of illegal immigration clearly demonstrates that it is a burden on the American taxpayer,” says Jack Martin, director of special projects for the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR).
It’s estimated that illegal immigration costs us a whopping $100 billion a year in benefits, infrastructural erosion, and other costs, which amounts to roughly “a couple thousand dollars a year,” per household, Martin says.
Trump has faced enormous backlash from liberals, and even many center-left politicians for proposing such a wall, but many conservatives are glad that a President is finally addressing the elephant in the room—illegal immigration.
“The crime is raging, and it’s violent. And if you talk about it, it’s racist,” Trump told Fox News, three days after an illegal immigrant deported five times killed a woman in San Francisco. “When Mexico sends its people, they’re not sending the best,” he said.
“They’re sending people that have lots of problems. They’re bringing drugs, they’re bringing crime. They’re rapists, and some, I assume, are good people, but I speak to border guards and they’re telling us what we’re getting.”
Despite the stark contrast between Trump’s stance on immigration and the “norm,” he was still elected President, which makes a very clear statement: REAL Americans, who embrace our culture and Judeo-Christian ethic, are sick and tired of politicians who pander to illegal immigrants.
…and despite massive skepticism from both liberals and conservatives alike, Trump’s infamous border wall has finally received the funding it needs to begin construction.
“Keeping Americans safe by protecting our homeland is a top priority,” says House Appropriations Homeland Security Subcommittee Chairman John Carter. “This funding bill provides the resources to begin building a wall along our southern border, enhance our existing border security infrastructure, hire more border patrol agents, and fund detention operations.”
In addition to allocating $1.6 billion to the wall, the bill also allocates $11.2 billion for other customs and border protections functions. The Hill reports:
“In total, the bill allocates $13.8 billion to customs and border protection. That includes the $1.6 billion for the wall, $100 million to hire 500 more Border Patrol agents, $131 million for new border technology, $106 million for aircraft and sensors, and $109 million for non-intrusive inspection equipment.”
“It also adds $619.7 million to Immigration and Customs Enforcement over current levels, bringing total funding for ICE to $7 billion.”
Overall, conservatives are elated that there will finally be a strong border necessary to preserve our language, our culture, and our people. While the far Left is fighting us every step of the way, trying to enact their globalist utopia, it seems that we’re gaining more ground each day.
