In a series of early-morning tweets, President Donald Trump pushed for passage of the American Health Care Act, which would repeal and replace Obamacare. He also issued a sobering reminder about the issue: the lives of the unborn are at stake.
President Trump tweeted out that the AHCA will end funding for Planned Parenthood. The nation’s largest abortion provider currently receives funding under Obamacare, and Trump warned failure to repeal it keeps the funding in place.
The President also took a swipe at the Freedom Caucus, because they have led conservative opposition to the plan. He said their pro-life position should make their support of the AHCA easy, however. “The irony is that the Freedom Caucus, which is very pro-life and against Planned Parenthood, allows P.P. to continue if they stop this plan,” he said.
It should be noted that some questioned President Trump’s commitment to ending abortion. They have accused President Trump of being soft on Planned Parenthood in the past. It is ironic, however, that he is now the only one pushing for an end to Planned Parenthood funding.
