Republicans Walking Back The Promise of A Full Repeal of Obamacare

After a historic defeat of Hillary Clinton and a sweeping victory for Republicans, Americans have a lump in the throat. It hasn’t taken long for Republicans to walk back the promise of a full repeal of Obamacare – ripping it out of the law “root and branch” as Sen. Majority Leader Mitch McConnell likes to say.

Why is it when Republicans negotiate they start in the middle? Republicans starting point is already compromised.  When democrats negotiate they do so from as far left they can go. It’s no wonder America is in such a bad way. We have allowed democrats to rule for years. It’s only since the mid 90’s that Republicans have been able to hold the purse strings. Before that the United States Congress was controlled by Democrats for 40 years.

That brings me to Newt Gingrich and the contract with America. When Gingrich and the 104th congress came up with the contract with America; it was not popular with the progressive liberal left. The media and the Clinton administration moaned about how the Welfare Reform bill would cause women and children to be thrown into the street. It was a non relenting pounding by the left. The Republican congress took a lot of heat but they remained strong in their resolve. They did the right thing, and years later no one remember how the media predicted a dooms day scenario because the opposite happened.

Now when the left talks about the Clinton era its all about the prosperity it brought. Years later Bill Clinton takes credit for the economic boom which arose from the Contract with America. The same will happen here except now we will have a Trump administration to thank. Republicans will finally take credit for having saved America from the financial doom we were heading towards with ObamaCare. If we will just do the right thing again and repeal this awful law. I mean let’s face it; the affordable care act has been anything but affordable.

Americans chose Donald J. Trump because we knew we needed a good negotiator. This is a defining moment. If Republicans in the house give in to Chuck Schumer and the Democrats they will set the stage for further capitulation, and lose credibility with the people who voted them in.

For those of you buying into that narrative that repealing Obamacare without a replacement is irresponsible A full repeal of Obamacare can be done in a responsible manner. Just go to Heritage Foundations website to find the way it could be handled. Want to join in the fight, and let your congress and senate know how you feel go here.
