From The Morning Consult
In a national survey taken from March 24 to March 26, 50 percent of voters polled support a temporary ban on all Muslims traveling to the United States. The support for a ban doesn’t break along party lines as neatly as one might have thought. About one-third of likely Democratic voters (34 percent) support the ban, along with 71 percent of Republicans and 49 percent of independents.
Here are the charts generated from that survey.
Even independents are more on board with this than not. If the wave of terrorism and sexual assaults gripping Europe ever came here how much do you want to bet this moves the needle even further in the direction in favor of this?
There is a question of whether or not it’s right or constitutional to single out Muslims, this survey notwithstanding, but this is why Trump is enjoying so much support. Granted, Ted Cruz is responsible for the second question, but Trump has been the one to really bring this issue to the forefront in a way no other Republican has been able to do.
For all the left’s efforts to paint him as controversial and racist they just show how completely out of touch THEY are with America. Voters want to know that who they’re voting for will be someone who is actually on their side. Trump more than any other candidate, at least rhetorically, is something Trump has been doing well. These polls are something of an indicator of that.
