Angry Germans Pelt ‘Open Borders’ Angela Merkel with Tomatoes

Angela Merkel

Angela Merkel is running for reelection in Germany, and she is facing opposition not just by a candidate, but by German citizens upset over her decision to allow unvetted immigrants from the Middle East to enter the country.

For weeks, protesters have been crashing Merkel’s rallies and public appearances, calling for her to be thrown out of office. Upset over a rash of terror and violence tied to the Muslim community, they are tired of Merkel promoting an “open borders” policy that would allow anyone from the Middle East to come into Germany alongside true refugees, with no way to tell them apart.

Now they have taken to pelting Merel with tomatoes at her public appearances. It has happened at least twice in the past week, that we know of. The latest incident occurred during a campaign rally in the city of Heidelberg. The election is September 24, and Merkel has a comfortable lead in the polls. Some voters, however, want to change the dynamic. With tomatoes.

Merkel inflamed the situation recently when she said:

“If we made a mistake, then it wasn’t in taking in people, but rather that we didn’t pay attention to the fact that people in Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey and Syria didn’t have enough to eat, weren’t getting an education and put themselves into the hands of people-smugglers.”

That is all fine and good for true refugees, but a little vetting could go a long way. In America, refugees are reportedly approved for entry only about 30% of the time, according to some reports. That has kept America from suffering a major terror attack at the hands of a fake refugee.

Here is video from the latest tomato throwing incident. While you cannot see the tomato actually hitting Merkel, you can see her reaction afterward. She reportedly kept wearing her jacket.
