Seriously, what part of DON’T MESS WITH TEXAS do criminals not understand?
A wannabe looter in Corpus Christi, Texas got a heaping helping of Texas hospitality when he broke into a house – in the middle of Hurricane Harvey. However, he was not expecting the homeowner to still be there, armed with a gun.
According to the Corpus Christi Caller Times, the man thought it would be great to use the cover of Hurricane Harvey to loot homes he figured would be empty. He wasn’t expecting the homeowner of his target house, near the oceanfront, to be home. And be armed.
The incident happened soon after the hurricane made landfall, so this idiot went looting with 100+ MPH winds and rain battering him. That, however, was nothing compared to what awaited him inside, as the homeowner promptly shot him. IN THE HEAD.
Amazingly, the man was still alive and responsive after getting shot, and paramedics were able to reach the house in the middle of the hurricane and take him to the hospital.
The Caller Times provides more information.
