Tensions between the U.S. and North Korea have been rising for the past year, and show no sign of slowing down. Trump and Mad Dog Mattis have expressed their willingness to go to war if Kim Jong Un decides to drop a nuclear bomb on us, but unfortunately it doesn’t seem that he’s heeded their warning.
Ever since the 1990s, North Korea has taken advantage of our lax foreign policies—they didn’t listen to Bill Clinton when they stabbed him in the back, they ignored Bush’s authority, and walked all over Obama every step of the way. Now with President Trump in office, they’re continuing to act brash, but they may regret it soon enough.
According to Russian official Anton Morozov, North Korea may be testing a rocket today that’s capable of striking the United States. While US officials have repeatedly stated that they have technology advanced enough to shoot any sort of nuclear threat down, the prospect of a third world war is still scaring most.
Daily Mail reports:
A Russian lawmaker who just returned from a visit to Pyongyang has said North Korea is preparing to launch another missile ‘in the nearest future’.
Anton Morozov, of the nationalist Liberal-Democratic Party, added that he has seen calculations showing the missile can hit the US West Coast.
Mr Morozov also said the North Koreans told him they have technology that would allow them to bring a warhead back down to earth intact.
According to US intelligence, the launch will most likely occur on either this upcoming Monday or Tuesday. This upcoming Monday is Columbus Day in the US, making it the perfect opportunity for them to take advantage of us, and Tuesday is North Korea’s Communist Party’s anniversary.
In the past, Un has timed his missile tests to coincide with American holidays and North Korean holidays to ensure maximum fear and media coverage, but the exact date he plans to launch this new weapon is still unconfirmed. The last major launch North Korea conducted was done on July 4th.
The news comes after President Trump discussed the North Korean situation with military leaders on Thursday, describing the moment as ‘the calm before the storm’.
When quizzed by reporters about what he meant, Trump said: ‘You’ll find out.’
The news also comes after Kim threatened to tame Donald Trump ‘with fire’ after the President threatened to ‘totally destroy’ North Korea in a speech to the UN.
In an unprecedented personal address to President Trump, Kim said the US would ‘pay dearly’ adding that North Korea ‘will consider with seriousness exercising of a corresponding, highest level of hard-line countermeasure in history.’
He added: ‘I am now thinking hard about what response he could have expected when he allowed such eccentric words to trip off his tongue.
‘I will surely and definitely tame the mentally deranged US dotard with fire.’
North Korea has previously released propaganda of Guam in nuclear ruin, along with other anti-American images, and although many believe he’s bluffing, military officials aren’t sure due to Kim’s erratic nature. Ri Yong Ho, North Korea’s foreign minister, however, has claimed that they could launch a missile in the pacific ocean, demonstrating their ability to strike the West Coast.
Kim believes securing such a weapon, and proving to the international community that it works, is the key to ensuring his regime’s survival.
Most experts agree that the North already has a missile capable of ranging most of the US, the Hwasong-14, which they have successfully tested multiple times.
Kim has also claimed to have a powerful hydrogen bomb that is small enough to fit on top of the missile, after the state carried out a sixth successful nuclear test earlier this year.
The final hurdle is in perfecting re-entry technology that would bring the warhead back to earth intact and on target.
It is not believed the North currently possesses this technology, as re-entry vehicles from previous Hwasong-14 tests were shown falling back into the ocean in flames.
As tensions rise, millions of Americans have begun preparing for the worst. Our military out-funds North Korea’s by 500 to 1, yet Un has acted irrationally in the past, and we should take no chances. Mattis has expressed his willingness to start a war if Kim Jong Un strikes us, so the only thing to be seen remains: will he do it, or will he not?
