BREAKING: One Deputy Dead, Multiple Others Shot in Colorado Gunfight

A Douglas County Sheriff’s Deputy is dead, and four others have been shot after a gun fight in the Denver suburb of Highlands Ranch in Colorado.

Two civilians have been shot as well, and it is believed the shooter is also dead.

Deputies were called to an apartment complex on a domestic dispute call when the suspect opened fire.

It is believed that deputies shot and killed the suspect.

Some on social media have attempted to identify the shooter, but those claims appear to be false. We advise against reposting anything on social media naming a suspect, as it appears to have been a prank against an innocent individual.

Fox News reports.

Police in a Colorado city just outside of Denver say at least one deputy has been killed Sunday following a shooting during a domestic disturbance check.

Five deputies and two civilians were shot in total by the suspect, who is now believed to be dead and no longer a threat to the public, the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office said.

The officers were shot while responding to a domestic disturbance call at the Copper Canyon apartments in Highlands Ranch early Sunday morning.

Police previously said residents of the area should shelter in place and avoid windows. Multiple law enforcement agencies and a SWAT team responded to the scene.
