This just in—Vice President Mike Pence voted to break the 50-50 tie vote after hours of debate, officially making Betsy DeVos the new Secretary of Education.
As Sunshine State News says:
“Betsy DeVos’ controversial road to confirmation as the next Secretary of Education has come to an end — Vice President Mike Pence voted to break the tie in a dead-even vote on Tuesday.
The vote was the first time in American history where a Vice President has ever broken a tie over a Cabinet level position.”
Fortunately for us, Trump chose a great VP—this tie-breaking decision to make Betsy DeVos Secretary of Education means more freedom of choice when it comes to education, which is paramount to maintaining an awake and engaged public (perhaps the Democrats don’t want this?).
As any well educated Republican knows, freedom of choice when it comes to education and information is, perhaps, the single biggest contributing factor to the success of a democracy. In the words of Franklin Delano Roosevelt:
“Democracy cannot succeed unless those who express their choice are prepared to choose wisely. The real safeguard of democracy, therefore, is education.” -FDR
For those of you who aren’t aware, DeVos has been a longtime advocate of school choice programs, a position which aligns with Trump’s $20 billion dollar proposal to promote school choice across the USA, so expect to see massive collaborations over the next 4 years (or dare I say 8) as Trump works with his new Secretary of Education to begin the process of reforming our cultural Marxism promoting public schools.
The Democrats, as usual, tried to block Trump’s choice, and their misinformation machines (CNN and more) did their best to make DeVos look like an incompetent buffoon—but, in the end, the people have prevailed. Trump was sure not to let them off the hook, though. This morning, he tweeted:
Senate Dems protest to keep the failed status quo. Betsy DeVos is a reformer, and she is going to be a great Education Sec. for our kids!

This is a president that we can count on to get things done, ladies and gentlemen—in just the past several weeks he’s gotten more done than Obama did in 8 years…and he’s just getting started.
