A former MSNBC host who was one of the few media figures to expose Hillary Clinton’s close ties to the media and the rigging of the Democratic primaries has died suddenly at his Washington D.C. home.
Ed Schultz hosted “The Ed Show” for MSNBC from 2009 to 2015, where he railed against Republicans and conservative values.
Like many Democrats, however, he did not seem to care for Hillary Clinton, and often reported on her collusion with the media to prop up her candidacy for President in both 2008 and in 2016. He also reported extensively on Hillary’s back-room deals and sweetheart arrangement with the DNC that essentially gave her the 2016 Democratic nomination, sabotaging Bernie Sanders’ candidacy in the process. Although he was fired by MSNBC in 2015, he continued his work as a broadcaster at RT America.
In April, Schultz gave an interview to National Review in which he said he was fired from MSNBC because they were “in the tank for Hillary” and he supported Bernie Sanders. Just over two months later, he is dead.
Fargo ABC affiliate WDAY-TV broke the news Thursday, citing sources who say Schultz died of natural causes.
Schultz’s employer, Russian government-owned cable network RT America, released a statement announcing he had “passed quietly … at his home in Washington, D.C.”
By the 2000s, Schultz had fully adopted the liberal views that would make him famous. “The Ed Schultz Show” ran for a decade and billed itself as the progressive answer to conservative radio show host Rush Limbaugh.
Schultz was perhaps best known for “The Ed Show,” which ran on MSNBC from 2009 and 2015. He often courted controversy and was suspended for a week by MSNBC in 2011 for comments on his radio show in which he called Laura Ingraham a “right-wing slut.”
After leaving MSNBC, Schultz signed with RT America to produce “The News with Ed Schultz.” Schultz and his new show were criticized by many of his fellow progressives for taking a new positive tone towards both Russian President Vladimir Putin and Republican President Donald Trump.
While Schultz was no fan of President Trump, he directed quite a bit of fire and fury at Hillary Clinton.
In this segment from his RT America show, Schultz discusses how Hillary’s book “What Happened” left out a crucial chapter: the rigging of the primaries by the Democratic Party.
In this radio interview, Schultz suggests he was fired from MSNBC because they wanted Hillary to be the nominee and he supported Bernie Sanders.
