Bill and Hillary Clinton made themselves rich off of donations made to the Clinton Foundation. Now that she’s lost the election, donations to the Foundation are down significantly.
Oh, how the mighty have fallen. It looks like Bill and Hillary have a lot of macaroni and cheese dinners in their future if this keeps up.
According to new tax filings, it seems many foreign countries and liberal benefactors became much less charitable after the influence the Clintons have been offering started to wane. The drop came amid several developments. Donations dropped after Hillary Clinton left the Foundation to run for President, and after Donald Trump began publicly criticizing the Foundation for their dishonest dealings.
So it seems all those donations weren’t just to help the poor and needy after all.
Donations to the Clinton Foundation plummeted amid Hillary Clinton’s failed presidential run, it has been revealed. The non-profit organization’s latest tax filings show contributions fell 37 per cent to $108million – down from $172million in 2014, according to the New York Post.
Donations fell as the former Secretary of State left the group in April last year shortly after announcing her run for the White House. Her departure also meant that revenue brought in from paid speeches plunged from $3.6 million in 2014 to just $357,500.
The foundation became an issue during the presidential campaign when Donald Trump pledged to appoint a special prosecutor to investigate it amid pay-to-play allegations. Trump called the foundation ‘the most corrupt enterprise in political history’ adding, ‘It must be shut down immediately.’
Needless to say, conservatives are having a field day over the news. When they aren’t dancing on the grave of Hillary’s political career, they are cracking jokes about the Clinton Foundation’s sudden turn for the worse. Someone on Twitter even joked about starting a GoFundMe page to keep the Clintons from losing their home in the exclusive Chappaqua community of New York.
Gotta love it.
