The Department of Justice just gave documents to the House Intelligence Committee about President Trump’s claim that he was wire-tapped at Trump Tower.
CNN, quoted unnamed sources (again) when it reported the information they received will not confirm Trump’s allegations that President Barack Obama wire-tapped Trump Towers. However, for months media reports prove federal agencies sought permission to conduct surveillance of Trump Tower in 2016. House Intelligence Committee Chairman Rep. Devin Nunes, (R-Calif) said:
“The Committee is satisfied that the Department of Justice has fully complied with our request for information from our March 8 letter on possible surveillance related to Donald Trump or his associates,”
Nunes said the CIA and FBI have not yet provided information “necessary to determine whether information collected on U.S. persons was mishandled and leaked.” Nunes has said in the past he hasn’t seen evidence to support President Trump’s claim.
The issue which has been used as a talking point by the left is whether or not communications gathered at Trump Tower was collected incidentally or as part of another investigation, but that dog doesn’t hunt for me. The truth of the matter is the Obama administration had Angela Merkel “wiretapped” and under surveillance by the National Security Agency.
This was exposed by Edward Snowden. It is also no secret Obama has used surveillance on people he deemed to be his enemy. He has been known to have “wiretapped” laptops and computers; as well as and surveilled reporter’s with whom he disagreed with. Why would we believe he would not use surveillance on Candidate Trump?
Even Rep Devin Nunes said: “We need to figure out what happened here, there are a lot of unanswered questions. I just don’t want anybody jumping to any conclusion on any side of this, other than the fact that we know that Obama didn’t physically wiretap Trump Tower,” “But everything else is still … there are a lot of unknowns.”
Really? To say there are a lot of unanswered questions is an understatement. When the mainstream media talks about this issue they speak as if they have it all figured out. What’s the problem with that you might ask? They don’t have all the facts. None of us do.
These new documents were also given to the Senate Intelligence Committee on Monday, and recently to the House Intelligence committee. The House Intelligence Committee is going to hold a hearing on “Russian interference in the 2016 election.” FBI Director James Comey will testify during that hearing.
On Friday, Trump in comical Trump fashion raised the wire-tapping issue during a joint press conference with the German Chancellor Angela Merkel. The look on her face was priceless. I admit I had to chuckle.
“As far as wiretapping I guess by this past administration, at least we have something in common, perhaps,” Trump said.
What is your opinion? Do you believe President Obama would only use surveillance on foreign dignitaries and reporters but not on Donald Trump? If your answer is yes, I would like to know why.
