Trump Tower Fire

UPDATE: NBC News reports that the fire is out. One person, a civilian, was seriously injured and later died at the hospital. Six NYFD firemen were injured, none seriously.

A fire has broken out at Trump Tower in New York City, the New York City Fire Department announced Saturday afternoon.

The three-alarm fire erupted on the 50th floor of the high-rise on Fifth Avenue near West 56th Street just before 6 p.m., the FDNY tweeted.

The fire started in an apartment on the 50th floor.

It was not immediately known if anyone was injured.
