The Late Show’s Stephen Colbert Invited film maker and never-Trumper Michael Moore onto his show to give his thoughts on President Trump’s transgender ban. As you can guess, he’s not a fan.
The vehemently rebellious and anti-patriotic film maker gave his two cents on what he thinks of transgenders in general, and then told the current transgender service members what he thinks they should do in response to the President’s controversial orders. Spoiler alert; he doesn’t suggest that they obey quietly.

Documentary filmaker and left-wing activist Michael Moore says transgender military members affected by President Donald Trump’s new policy barring them from service should simply “refuse to leave.”
In an appearance Wednesday on The Late Show, Moore and host Stephen Colbert discussed President Trump’s announcement that transgender people will no longer be allowed to serve in the U.S. military.
Not mincing his words, Moore called the move “disgusting” and said transgender soldier [sic] are among America’s bravest military members.
“What is so disgusting about this is, if you are transgender trying to get by in this society, I couldn’t think of any more brave people to have defending this country than transgenders,” Moore said.
Asked what transgender servicemen and women should do in response to Trump’s new policy, Moore said they should “refuse to leave.”
“Just say, ‘We’re not going anywhere. Come get us,’” Moore explained. “What we have is a commander in chief who is trans-Siberian. That’s maybe the bigger problem.”
I think it’s odd that he says that the President “didn’t talk to anybody” when he clearly stated that he did talk to people. In his tweet, he talked about talking to people and all the advice he got before making his decision. Not to mention, he also stated his reasoning in his messages; inhibiting the focus of the troops and the incredible cost of dealing with the “transition” of the would-be soldiers. This unnatural process brings with it a whole host of not only medical costs, but long-term problems that we have yet to fully understand.
Transgenderism is still defined as a mental illness and all mental illnesses have always precluded you from serving in the military. As with many of these so-called unprecedented decisions that the President has made, he’s actually just enforcing laws already in place. If you can be kept out of the military because of scoliosis or color blindness, it makes sense that changing your gender would also keep you from being apart of our elite fighting forces.
Even if all of this were completely arbitrary, and the President had no legal or medical standards to fall back on, he’s still the Commander in Chief and what he says goes. As far as the current transgender service members, when they joined up they agreed to follow orders. They wouldn’t be the first to not like the orders coming down the line to them and they won’t be the last. For the military to work properly though, people have to do things they don’t want to do.
