A laptop was stolen from a Secret Service agent’s auto which was parked in Brooklyn, New York.

According to law enforcement sources who spoke to  Fox News.

“The U.S. Secret Service can confirm that an employee was the victim of a criminal act in which our Agency issued laptop computer was stolen,” the agency said in a statement Friday. “An investigation is ongoing and the Secret Service is withholding additional comment until the facts are gathered.”

“The Secret Service believes this is a petty theft, which is not uncommon in the area, not a national security incident in which the agent was targeted,” former Secret Service agent Dan Bongino told Fox News.

Incredibly the agent whose laptop was stolen left her PIV card with access codes to the laptop. That would make it easier for the criminal to access the information on the laptop. The good news if you can say there is good news is that once the computer is connected to the internet, it can be wiped by the secret service, according to Dan Bongino.

A Secret Service agent’s laptop has in place security features that would prevent someone without authorized access from simply logging on and searching it. Bongino; a former secret service agent during the Obama administration also says the security plan in the laptop would most likely include information on where assets are located, sensitive information about the presidents’ locations, and information about Trump Tower.

“Where the water comes in, where the air comes in, where the hard rooms are.”

This is a dangerous situation for the president.

The laptop was taken from the agent’s vehicle parked outside of her home. The agent lives in Brooklyn, according to a New York Daily News report. This agent not just had her laptop stolen; she had her Secret Service pins; which could be used to get access to secure areas. Also an agency radio has been recovered.  A source told Fox News about the recoveries, but said the laptop was not recovered.

“The Secret Service is very heavily involved and, citing national security, there’s very little we have on our side,” a New York City Police Department source told the New York Daily News.

“There’s data on there that’s highly sensitive,” the police source added. “They’re scrambling like mad.”

The Secret Service source says they don’t believe the laptop was stolen by a foreign power and that it is being investigated as a “street crime.” In my view the Secret Service has fallen down on the job. The fact is that many people want to harm this president. It is their responsibility to keep him safe.
