People stealing packages off of porches has skyrocketed in recent years, as online shopping sites like Amazon become more popular.
There have been hundreds of security videos posted to YouTube capturing thieves swiping packages off of porches, but here’s a video you likely have never seen: a thief getting real-time punishment for their crime.
In a video from Washington state, a passing woman is seen on two surveillance cameras stopping her car and walking up to a porch after UPS drops off some packages. She quickly swipes a a few boxes, but as she tries to run back to her car, she slips on the wet grass and falls. Her leg can be seen bending the wrong way, obviously broken.
This package thief was punished for her crime while she was in the middle of committing it – but instant karma didn’t deter her from nicking the goods.

A UPS delivery man drops off three parcels at the side door of the property before driving off.
The brazen thief then spies an opportunity when she drives past and sees the unattended parcels at the doorstep.
Her car circles back before she jumps out and runs over the garden to grab the goods.
But as the woman ran back to the getaway vehicle she slipped on wet grass and suffers a gruesome leg break.
Just when you think the thief is going to get caught on the front lawn of the house, a man in her car comes to her rescue.
Her accomplice sees the downed woman and carries the package thief to the car then goes back for the boxes.
Lizeth Ababneh caught the theft on her RING and Nest security system. She said she found the video comical, but the boxes contained medication for her husband.
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s office has opened up an investigation into the theft.
The thieves reportedly hit a neighbour’s house too during their stealing spree.

A suspect has not yet been arrested, but given the detail seen in the video, it likely won’t take long to find them.
