VICTORY: NFL Owners Backtrack, Consider Making New Rule to Stand For Anthem

Over the past two weeks, we’ve seen the NFL’s ratings tank harder than a lead zeppelin. After Colin Kaepernick and dozens of other NFL players began their National Anthem protests, millions of Americans began protesting them. Now, however, it appears that NFL owners have felt the blow-back, as they’re considering a new rule which would make it illegal for any player to protest the national anthem.

Ever since Colin Kaepernick started the sick trend of kneeling during the national anthem, dozens of other anti-American NFL players began following his lead. While the trend has been going on for a while, it didn’t really start to pick up steam until recently—that’s when the NFL realized the severity of their mistake.

Once the trend grew to a mainstream level, millions of Americans began boycotting any and all games with players who refused to stand for the anthem. President Trump even attacked the NFL players for disrespecting our flag in his speech at an Alabama rally, causing tensions to flare up even further.

“Wouldn’t you love to see one of these NFL owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say get that son of a bitch off the field right now?” Trump said at a rally in Alabama. He was met with widespread applause. Despite this, many have fired back at Trump claiming that the players have a right to protest however they see fit.

Regardless, the NFL’s ratings have suffered so severely that now the owners are considering a new rule which would require players to stand for the national anthem. CNBC reports:

The owners of the NFL are reportedly considering a rule change that would make it mandatory for players to stand during the national anthem.

A league spokesman said that the owners would discuss the potential change during a meeting next week, Dow Jones reported.

In recent seasons, primarily black professional football players have knelt during the national anthem to protest racial inequality in the United States. The protests started after former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick last year began kneeling during the anthem to protest police mistreatment of black Americans.

Finally, the chickens have come home to roost, after months of anti-American, flag-protesting behavior. What started as one man trying to disrespect our country, eventually grew into an NFL-wide trend of National Anthem protests…and unfortunately for them, the majority of NFL viewers are patriotic men and women, who don’t dare disrespect our flag.

The American flag represents freedom, and it represents all of the men and women who died giving us the rights that we have. To disrespect our flag, is to disrespect our dead ancestors, and to disrespect our country—the people of America have spoken, and the NFL has submitted.
