Many conservative Americans have pointed out the strange relationship between John McCain and President Trump over the past year—while the Arizona Senator claims he’s a conservative, many have pointed out he’s almost as far left as Obama. So when a reporter exposed his dirty little secret in front of everyone, things got a little bit messy.
The Fox reporter asked McCain a question about President Donald Trump which many Americans have been wanting to ask. Immediately and without warning, McCain erupted in anger and began to berate and verbally abuse the young Fox News reporter.
“Has your relationship with the President frayed to the point where you are not going to support anything that he—” before the reporter can even finish his question, Arizona Senator McCain, who was just re-elected according to his own words, exploded.
“Why would you say something that stupid?” he said, interrupting the reporter. “Why would you ask something that dumb? Huh?” McCain seems to have taken this question quite personally, and knowing his past relationship with President Trump, many are wondering if the reporter may have hit the nail on the head.
“That’s a dumb question!” McCain said to the reporter, arguing that he’s been voting in the best interest of his people rather than out of spite for President Trump. The Arizona Senator previously vetoed the Republican ‘repeal and replace’ attempt at Obamacare, much to the surprise of Congress.
McCain said that he could not “in good conscience” support the GOP effort to replace and repeal the ‘Affordable Care Act,’ which has lead many conservatives to brandish the Arizona “Republican” as a RINO, or Republican in Name Only.
“There has been a significant amount of tension between McCain and Trump over the past few days. On Monday, McCain bashed Trump’s ‘America First’ nationalistic policies, to which Trump warned McCain that he ‘fights back’ and ‘it won’t be pretty,’ ” reported The Daily Caller.
McCain was honored earlier this week by the Philadelphia Foundation, to give a speech on President Trump’s “spurious nationalism” in which he attacked the President for his pro-American policies, and even went so far as to call him “unpatriotic.”
Conservative voices attacked in retaliation, noting that the Philadelphia Foundation, where McCain gave his Monday night speech, is nothing more than a leftist front group. Mad World News notes that they’ve given out the “Liberty Medal” to Hillary Clinton, Bono, Mikhail Gorbachev, and Bill Clinton, to name a few.
While the Arizona Senator appeals to many moderately left leaning voters, voices on the far right have condemned McCain for his pandering to the masses. McCain has expressed willingness to work with Republicans to repeal and replace Obamacare, but very little progress has come from this so far.
In an age where Americans are growing tired of lying politicians, who quickly jump on the bandwagon if it means more votes, President Trump’s ‘straight to the point’ talking style has struck a chord with the millions of disenfranchised working class of middle America—and although he may not always be PC-conforming, you can’t deny that the man has a spine.
