Here’s something you’ll likely never see again – Saturday Night Live ridiculing Democrats and Hillary Clinton in a hilarious sketch that’s so good, it must have been written by a Republican.
SNL spends most of its time hitting Donald Trump and Republicans, but during last night’s (11/11) show, they took the time to give it to the Democrats as well.
The sketch, made to look like a Democratic political ad, celebrates Tuesday’s election wins, but skewers the Democrats as old and uncaring about most of America. A host of Democrats, played by SNL cast members, pathetically cheers on the election wins as a sign that “Democrats are back,” and claim to have new blood leading the party – only to trot out the same old Dems we all know.
Claiming to have “fresh ideas,” they then introduce “fresh faces” Nancy Pelosi, Dianne Feinstein, and Chuck Schumer. They then promise not to just focus on “coastal elites,” but to win over the “mouthbreathers from Wisconsin” and the “window lickers in Ohio.”
Marking the wins in “two of the ten states we care about,” the “ad” features Cecily Strong playing Dianne Feinstein, Kate McKinnon as both Nancy Pelosi and Hillary Clinton, Alex Moffat as Chuck Schumer, Mikey Day portraying Tim Kaine, Jason Sudeikis as Joe Biden, Larry David as Bernie Sanders, and even Leslie Jones as Donna Brazile yelling “I will destroy all of this!”
After proclaiming “you love us again,” we get a series of Democrats doing some shameless pandering, including Tim Kaine only speaking Spanish, something the real Tim Kaine did during the election to win Latino votes.
Kate McKinnon shows up as Hillary, claiming she can still get elected President. After spending years singing Hillary’s praises, it is surprising to see SNL turn on her like this.
