Even Liberals Are Boycotting Starbucks Now (VIDEO)

Starbucks

There may not be any fans of Starbucks left, after the coffee chain managed to tick off their last loyal customer group: easily-offended, pseudo-intellectual liberals who like drinking burnt, overpriced coffee.

In recent days, protests have broken out against the company after two black men were cuffed and escorted from a Philadelphia Starbucks over loitering charges. They weren’t committing a crime, but were waiting for a friend before they ordered coffee.

Liberals cried racism, so the company that spent years catering to liberal causes is now being attacked by the very snowflakes they helped create.

ABC 6 in Philadelphia reports on the protests outside the Starbucks where the arrests happened.

A company spokeswoman confirms that the manager at the Starbucks location at 18th and Spruce streets who called police is no longer an employee at the store.

Protesters have been calling for the manager’s firing since two black men were arrested for trespassing last week while waiting on an acquaintance for a business meeting.

The chief executive officer of Starbucks is in Philadelphia to have a meeting with Mayor Jim Kenney and is hoping to deliver a face-to-face apology to the two men.

The second day of protests has kept the Starbucks store near Rittenhouse Square from opening to the public.

The protesters entered the store Monday morning and chanted, “Starbucks Coffee is anti-black.”

“They will not make money at the Starbucks today. We will hit them where it hurts and that’s in their pockets,” Abdul-Ali Muhammad of the Black and Brown Workers Cooperative said.

For nearly five hours, over two dozen protesters filled the Starbucks expressing their outrage over Thursday’s arrests.

The Daily Caller breaks down the controversy that got us here.

The protests come in light of recently released video showing police officers arresting two black men at the Starbucks. The coffee shop called 911 after the men refused to leave the premise, according to police. The men asked to use the bathroom but were denied because they had not bought anything.

The men said they had been waiting for a friend to come and meet them for business, their lawyer said.

Starbucks apologized for the incident, with the CEO saying it was “reprehensibile” the men had been arrested.

“I’ll say the circumstances surrounding the incident and the outcome at our store on Thursday were reprehensible. They were wrong; and for that, I personally apologize to the gentlemen [who] visited our store,” Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson said on “Good Morning America.”

Scott Greer of The Daily Caller had a great observation, “Starbucks perfectly represents the urban elite. They put Black Lives Matter signs in their yards while making sure minorities stay out of their neighborhoods,” he tweeted.

Comedian Mike Winfield was just hoping for free coffee.
